Normally pregnancy is divided into 3 phases called trimesters. Each trimester is unique and is marked by specific fetal developments and milestones.
Trimesters make it easier for management and tracking of expected developments in a growing baby. A pregnancy is considered full-term at 40 weeks. However, babies delivered before the end of week 37 are considered premature.
