Hameed said: “This border closure has created pressure or the suffering of the Nigerian citizens is dumbfounding before now we have poor people before now we have people who could not afford three-square meals before now we have people who couldn’t find jobs,”
“So, for anybody to believe that the border closure is the reason for the hardship in the country is completely dumbfounding. There are no statistics to support that claim. The border closure is a win-win for Nigeria”
“Farmers in Abakaliki who could not sell a truck of millet a week, now do so in a day, Go to Kebbi and ask those farmers how business is now. People are beginning to invest in our agricultural system”
“Why do we need to be fed by foreigners? At what point do we begin to truly feel independent? Any country or nation that can not feed itself can not claim independence. Because the crux is that once there is a diplomatic misunderstanding, they will close the gap, what happens then?
“Hence, we must grow Nigeria, we must eat and drink Nigeria. Even China closed its borders to the whole world for 40 years and today it is considered a great nation. Don’t you want to be a great Nigeria?” he added.
He urged all citizens to remain patient as the closure of the border is indeed in our interest.

To be sincere, I know this idea of border closure is one of the best ideas and Buhari is the only President has had the very large balls to close our doors to our immediate neighbors on land. The Positives on this move is very attractive and the end game will be very rewarding for Nigeria and its future generations, we need to look inward and use our numerical advantage to a creative and industrious use, there will be lots of Jobs for the youths, and the economy booms.
The negatives are there too, in that, we must find better ways to secure our borders and also get more ways to curb corruption and indisipline amongst officers of the Customs, Police, Army and other relevant security agencies.
Finally the ball is in the court of our Elite Leaders at all levels, "Elite, because they are the Kings and the Masses who are meant to be served are Slaves", continue all your tricks at enriching your pockets , on your death beds or when the alarm sounds, make sure you stuff as many valuables and wealth as you can on you, so you can continue balling where you end.

if an authority in Nigeria can sound this way , then Nigerian business men are in trouble . China alongside India were once the economic powerhouse of the world . China historically is buoyant economically with sophisticated technology thru the medieval age.

China’ population was usually larger than Europe’s, and the various phases of Chinese empire were wealthier and more technologically sophisticated. Nigeria has no historical advantage nor was it buoyant to stand on its own. Morocco , Algeria and Egypt are the only country with such in africa. yet they are not with this porous thinking.


And, of course, China system of centralized goverment is another thing this custom authority didn't think thru, over 52 billion dollar of Chinese citizens cash working abroad are flowing in to the economy during the closure, ( it is called foreing remmittance) how miuch are Nigeria citizens working abroad pumping into Nigeria economy. this cash is what was used to establish various industrial hub around the suburb of China.

it is time Nigeria stop thinking childishly and focus on how to annexed a market volume of 1.3 billion people instead of looking at 200 million population which can not fast track development and industrialization.
