Betting is not a crime, it's worse than a crime. It destroys careers, families, relationship and ultimately ends life. It turns a boisterous young man into an addict, a thief and a wasted life and dreams. I am a living example of how betting can turn a very brilliant, young, adventurous future into a waste. THERE IS NO GAIN
I was a young man with so much dreams. Academically I excelled. I was so good I won a scholarship that saw me throughout my secondary School. I've represented my state in national championships and won. I wanted to become a lawyer. I wanted to become a doctor. I wanted so many things. Coming from a very poor background. I lost my father so early in 1998. We were left with our young widowed mother. We only survived by the grace of God. They were days we didn't eat. Because there was nothing and no hope. Our extended family deserted us (or so I thought then until I came to realize they too had their own problems).

Part 2.
Fastword to 2009. The year I got admission to study medicine. My first few years were successful until I stumbled upon a certain demon that will ruin my life. Then it was surebet and nairastake. My first few tries were as suspected a miss. I heard News of people winning thousands with just #100. Wow! I thought to my self. I kept on playing hoping to win one day. In reality I rearly won but always lost. Little did I know I was becoming an addict. I got convinced that staking higher increases chances of winning.

Part 3
I onced took out money from my school fees (money borrowed by my lovely mother) to play bet. I lost it and what seemed easy to get proved almost impossible. The thing with betting is that u think you will definitely win the next one. The more money u get the higher u stake. I know some people reading my post will criticize me for being too naive and greedy, but deep down they know themselves. The most dangerous bet is done online, virtual is the chief demon. I know people that transfer their whole salary via interswitch to fund account and loose it ALL in 1 day. It happened to me. This article is a testimony, so I am willing to bare it all

Because of betting. I mutilated my school fees, missed some exams because I couldn't register them. And ultimately came out with a shamble of a degree. My only grace was my natural gift. I engaged in impersonation, exam falsification and admission racketeering to raise money. All of which would still be lost in bet. I became sick, couldn't eat and lost focus. The funny thing is how someone will dash me #500. Instead of buying food, I will use it to play Virtual. Im stupid.

Inability to keep a relationship, and job:
Imagine dating a gambler. Hell! I can't even date me if I were a lady. Talk of introspection. A lot of young people are addicted already. Deep down some of you have experienced part of my story. U can't keep a girl. Someday they will find out. Betting closes doors too. When people who genuinely wanna help you come somehow you screw it up. God save us. Fastforward...My service year was a mess. My allawee amounted to nothing. I was racking up serious debts, everywhere I go. I borrowed money from credit direct to offset the debts. Pheww! Gone. My discharge certificate was seized. I lied to my lovely mother. But the bank would come calling. I miraculously got a job of 100k. Again my staking increased from an average of #500 to staking thousands. At the end I had no single savings, racked up debts of almost #1 million. Not counting those that threatened to kill me and later forgave my debt.

Part 7
God saves all
I lost everything. My certificate, my family no longer trust me, I lost my job, and my mates were all moving on. And here I was wasting my life in bet. Finally I decided. ( Not the first time though) to genuinely change and let God change me. I had two options. 1. Kill myself. 2. Go back to my mom. Of course she didn't celebrate but gave me love. Cleaned me up, took me closer to God, gave me money sometimes for upkeep and I stayed indoors for months. I shun sites like flashscore, goal.com, and every bet site. I read positive stories of successful people and prayed. Today I have my certificate, I run a rehab/Support center online to help people who have gone through similar or worse cases.
