These soldiers are taking an enormous risk in photographing this killing. Even if the man being shot was an enemy combatant, filming that incident, which clearly violates the statutes of the Geneva Convention, will surely draw demands from OUTSIDE Nigeria, that the incident be investigated by the Nigerian military. Similar killings of unarmed captured civilians during the Biafran War, ultimately resulted in several soldiers themselves facing the firing squad, as the penalty for violating rules of engagement that are applicable to ALL armed conflicts, globally. |
