Has Adeboye endorsed any candidate? The only popular pastor who I'm aware has done that (so far) is Tunde Bakare. They would speak with one voice when the time comes. |

Beaf: Christian theocrats are no better than Muslim ones. Don't want to live under either. What happens if you disagree with the theocracy about how you want to practice some aspect of the religion? Under a theocracy, religious disagreement is violating the law and probably gets you jailed or at the very least hurts your quality of life a lot. Ya'll need to read up on the reformation and especially Martin Luther to understand why religion and politics don't mix. Redeemed needs to stay out of politics; Jesus said the following for a very good reason: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew%2022:21;&version=NIV;WHNU; |

Christian theocrats are no better than Muslim ones. Don't want to live under either. Just because they are christains does not mean they cannot endorse a muslim, I believe at the moment Buhari is even the favourite but the tide might turn, we shall wait to hear from the Pentecostal General Over-Seers. |

KnowAll: That is fine. But we don't want citizens in the habit of choosing who they vote for based upon what a religious leader says. This leads to a mumu society. |

in fact Catholics like Anglicans is a fast dieing faith Where did you get this thrash from? Tell me the truth when was the last time you left south west Nigeria. The RCC is the largset single church in all the south east and South-south states of Nigeria. It even controls up to 70% of the states of Anambra ,Imo and Enugu states. The penterascals are thriving only in the south west region most especialy Lagos. The Rccg Parishes you see on the sreets of the south west ,why don't you travel out of the south west and tell me what you see. The RCC only came to igbo land in 1900,bby 1930s,they less than 20000 catholics in Nigeria.Today They are counting tens of millions. Is that the symptom of a dying church http://www.30giorni.it/us/articolo.asp?id=10812 |

Ethnicity is stronger than religion in africa include nigeria. People loyality is first to thier ethnics group before any other thing. ethnicity is more important than even country. even they can kick out thier wife if he tell them nonsense about thier ethnic group You are 100 percent correct. An igbo christian would rather vote for an igbo muslim for president rather a yoruba or hausa christian. The same thing applies to the other ethnic groups. I must be quick to add that in intra-ehnic politics.religion might play a key role for eig in Anambra state if youare neither catholic or anglican you can as well forget about being governor of anamra state. Also in plateau sate if you are not a member of COCIN,it will be difficult to become governor in plateau state. I even know of a pastor at a Redeemed who was caught having s-ex with one of the secretaries. And this is a guy who would anoint my head with oil, pray over me, etc. I was flabbergasted when I heard this story. I thought they were all born agin people .That reminds me of the likes of RCCG members like Ceclia Ubru and Erastus Akingbola who squandered depositors's fund in trying to purchase a jet for daddy GO |

Foolish adherance to religion is the main reason an id!ot like George Bush was voted in by the US. Today, they are ripping all the "benefits" as the US begins a long period of groping in the dark place their ultra Christian George Bush led them into. The same thing happened to the UK under Tony Blair. There are bright enough pointers from more successful countries for Nigeria to observe. George Bush ruled the US for 8 years and you see him as an idiot. No wonder you have been ruling your world and no one complains about you! I cannot comprehend it when the unaccomplished take it upon themselves to denigrate their betters so arrogantly! Daddy G. O. has credibility. He is a man of integrity. When he speaks on an issue, people want to listen to him because he hears from God and is not anxious to please man. The members of the RCCG are not robots. Daddy GO has never treated them as one. That is why the church is growing. There is Free Will under the Love and Righteousness banner of God. Daddy G.O will not ask the RCCG to vote for any individual. He teaches and will teach us to vote right. AND WE WILL. GOD WILLING. ETHNICITY, RELIGION, ETC ARE WRONG MOTIVES FOR VOTING. THEY ARE SELF DESTRUCTIVE. LOOK OUT FOR MERIT, INTEGRITY, VISION AND COMMITMENT TO THE IDEALS OF A GREAT NIGERIA. GOD BLESS NIGERIA |

Quote from Adefarasin, Nigerians used to be the most educated people in the world until the likes of Abacha and the Murtala Muhammed came and scattered our educational system to slow down the South so that the North can catch up, instead of speeding up the North. We are sick and tired of politicians whose only objective is to fleece our public wealth. We h, ave selfish people, selfish parents and selfish leaders who do everything for themselves and nothing for their children and successors. But, success is not success unless there is a successor. May God deliver Nigeria from ‘eldership’ and from a leadership that is overweight, undiscerning and blind. Do you know why Nigeria’s vast resources have not yet been discovered? It is because if they are discovered now, these useless people in power will squander them. But God is waiting for David to deliver us.” - Senior Pastor of House On The Rock, PAUL ADEFARASIN, said two days ago as he called on Christians in the country to be involved in politics, especially the Presidency The Pentecostals must not throw their 20% voting strenght away come 2011, they should vote en-bloc, so that whoever they support next year has a head start of +20% |

The Pentecostals must not throw their 20% voting strenght away come 2011, they should vote en-bloc, so that whoever they support next year has a head start of +20% what will happen when muslims vote en bloc ? Everybody knows that there is no unity in the pentecostal fold so the queaton of voting en bloc does not really arise |

Edenitis: No sir, you have your facts wrong. Big Daddy Adejale Adebole is a bible-thumping thief and con-man who pretends to be God's representative on Earth, in order to trick poor people into giving him their hard-earned money, which he uses to finance a life of lavish, opulent luxury, and to fuel the private jet that his fat wife uses to visit Europe for extravagant shopping sprees. More significantly, Big Daddy Adejale helps corrupt Nigerian government officials launder their embezzled loot by accepting it as tax-exempt "church donations" from which he takes a huge cut before spiriting out the rest to the Middle East and Europe where it is banked on behalf of those who make careers of bleeding Nigeria to death. Adejale Adebole is a willing accessory after the fact, to financial crimes of monumental proportion. |

KnowAll:On the issue of the sultan you are clearly wrong. I know his influence dwindle but he could still pull more than 4 times the figures of RCCG G.O. he has a strong following in the NW and moderate following NE. Whilst it extends to the NC and weakens to the South. Now what are the figures again of Muslims in the NW? That said the sultan only issue is he prefers to remain indifferent just to avoid getting into issues amongst political parties. He world prefer to allow Muslims go about there choice. Seeking his endorsement doesn't not automatically translate to support of every Muslim . But it could assure you a favorable influence amongst a lot of northern traditional rulers and a significant chunk of the Muslim population. But I trust he will not do such a thing. Let religion be kept away from politics. That said I feel RCCG G.O. has maintained a largely neutral position. Just like a large number of catholics. Don't know about all the denominations. I do know that a lot of religious bodies not withstanding have secretly offered there flocks for some negative worldly gains. Without the public knowing. They only indicator is there usual outright support and religious justification of political matters . |
