na wa.. if you aren't a kidnapper or a criminal why run through a FRSC checkpoint when they aint even armed, why not stop when asked to and why overspeed till you lost control and killed people

..

Crashed into them. Did you not think that there could be other reasons why people crash thier vehicles? Break failure, steering seconds lock, heart failure or sudden dizziness, among others. Just because officials were involved doesn't mean he's a kidnapper

why should frsc be stopping vehicles? For what? Highway code states that driver can be flag by frsc men if he commits proven traffic offences and if he refuses to stop, plate number will be noted.

Atabout midday of Wednesday, 6/11/19 around 1100HRS a team of FRSC Personnel assigned to monitor and control traffic were approached by a truck driver who intended to make an enquiry from one of the members of the team.

In the course of the inquiry, a Mercedes Benz ran into the patrol vehicle and in the process killed the arresting Marshal and the other person while they were discussing with the other FRSC Official occupying the driver's seat who was also seriously affected by the crash.

Corps Public Education Officer
Federal Road Safety Corps

Bisi Kazeem FSI lied in this press release.

Driver making inquiry...
Arresting officer...

Until this two discrepancies are explained. FRSC is just trying to cover up.

Because a government agency gives an official report doesn't make it the truth

PRESS RELEASE:

IBADAN ROAD TRAFFIC CRASH INVOLVING FRSC PERSONNEL: THE TRUTH ABOUT THE UGLY INCIDENT

The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to the unfortunate road traffic crash that occurred in Ibadan that claimed the lives of an FRSC staff and one (1) other person who is yet to be identified.

Due to the sensitivity of the incidence and the need to commence immediate investigation, the Corps Marshal has directed the Oyo
state Sector Commander to carry out full investigation into the culpable cause of the incident and report immediately.

While investigation is still on going, the public is advised to remain calm and peaceful. Meanwhile, first information report at our disposal indicates as follows:

At about midday of Wednesday, 6/11/19 around 1100HRS a team of FRSC Personnel assigned to monitor and control traffic were approached by a truck driver who intended to make an enquiry from one of the members of the team.

In the course of the inquiry, a Mercedes Benz ran into the patrol vehicle and in the process killed the arresting Marshal and the other person while they were discussing with the other FRSC Official occupying the driver's seat who was also seriously affected by the crash.

The Sector Commander along with her Management Team inspected the area of the scene to conduct a crash investigation and also to gather information from first responders (eye witnesses).

From that investigation, it was meticulously gathered that the FRSC Patrol vehicle was not in motion when the incident occurred.

The seriously injured victim has been since rushed to the hospital for medical attention while the deceased have been taken to the morgue.

The Corps Marshal commensurates with all affected and sends his condolences to the families of the victims and wish the injured victim quick recovery.

Signed

Bisi Kazeem FSI
Corps Commander
Corps Public Education Officer
Federal Road Safety Corps

1. The FRSC should not be investigating an accident in which they are involved. There must be fairness and an arms length participation by an independent investigator.
2. "First Responders" refers to medical personnel, Fire and Police, not eye witnesses as you stated.
3. If as you said, the FRSC team "were approached by a truck driver who intended to make an enquiry from one of the members of the team. how come you then said " in the process killed the arresting Marshal", where does an arresting Marshal come in if there was no prior arrest?
4. If this is an attempt at a cover up, it is a very poor one.

Lobatan! As if I knew it. Some people were busy broadcasting that they caused the accident because of bribe.
The reason why so early Nigerians will not make heaven is because of assumptions. They assume scenarios and they believe their assumptions more than facts.

The story does not add up. What was the truck driver discussing with the officers if not rogers? They were obviously negotiating bribe while the other driver ran into them.

Anyways, may the souls of the departed ones rest in peace.

I also felt FRSC wouldn't have pursued the car at that top speed. But police should be involved in the investigation as well.

I read the story earlier that FRSC chased the driver of the Benz to his death. As much as public organizations are bad in Nigeria, we still have to be objective not to believe just any rumour or lie.
