The Role

The Mine Geology Superintendent is responsible for all Open pit and Underground Mine Geology activities and whole site reconciliation reporting.

Optimise and manage in-mine resource definition and grade control activities to ensure growth of site resources and reserves are, at a minimum, replaced each year.
Manage the quality and suitability of interpreted geological and mineralogical wireframes for resource estimation purposes.
Prepare and maintain grade control and geological models in conjunction with the Senior Resource Geologist.
Assist in the generation of exploration conceptual geological models.
Responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of all mining production and stockpiles on a monthly basis or as directed.
Supervise the use of and seek to continually improve geological processes to achieve and/or exceed specified goals, cost and safety targets.
Supervise the collection, storage and validation of geological data such as drilling data, geophysical data and surface and underground mapping.
Support the Long-Term Planning Superintendent and Discovery & Resource Definition Superintendent by providing data and input into resource and project evaluations.
Prepare and present regular reports and updates on mine geology activities for both internal and external purposes.
Contractor supervision and management
Mentoring and supervision of, Mine Geologists and Geology Technicians.
Generate or provide input into budgets, forecasts and schedules.

Technically you will have;

Tertiary qualification in Geology
10+ years industry experience
An understanding of geological interpretation and current 3D modelling techniques, block modelling, QAQC protocols, grade control systems and production stockpile modelling.
Previous production exposure in Open Pit and Underground environments is essential.
Near mine exploration experience around orogenic gold deposits will be highly regarded
Strong computer literacy in specialised 3D Geology software, Micromine and Volcan
