Note: We sell and install server 2008, and also train your engineer to administer it.

Essentially, the idea of a server is not new.

Computers used to be so powerful that an entire office like JAMB owned only one mainframe or mini. You then had to break down the power from that one mini and share it to 100s of users through terminals. The main machine then used to be the only real machine and all other terminals were dummies, so they could only use facilities that the server provided.

The advantages were
1) Security - anybody couldnt just go to a terminal and use it. You had to be authorised from the main computer and you must be assigned a particular terminal
2) Sharing - Whatever was available on the main computer was also available to every terminal unless the administrator doesnt want it so.
3) Workgroup Synergy - Imagine typing a Bible. It would take about 500 people typing at the same time to finish it. This was just the kind of work the mainframs and mini were good for.

When the PC came, it provided an intelligent terminal that one person could use without sharing and had the advantage that it was independent and affordable.

However, the PCs you and I own today suffer from the disadvantages that were advantages on the mini

This led to the need to connect PCs together through peer networking. That is what most offices today are doing today. Basically, it is a serverless connection and suffers seriously in the direction of security.

The new Microsoft Server 2008 is a software that turns one of the PCs on the network into a server, and gives it the job of security, connectivity, and management of resources. Basically, any company that cares about security should go for the server 08, and any IT personnel or administrator shouldnt lack knowledge of Server 2008 and its features.

It replaces the old Server 2003, and is really so much better with so many features. It is also relatively virus free, hacker-free and stable. More systems can be in one domain, and the server technology can manage even computers that are scattered across the whole world so that they can share information and devices.

If your organisation is growing and the need to protect secrets and control who does what is important, you cant do without a Microsoft Server, and the Server 08 is the best on the market.

We will gladly give you an original copy, install it and train one or more staff to administer it. Guess what, we'll even offer FREE CCNA training to any of your IT staff you send to us so that they can link your branches across Nigeria and even abroad.

We can train rookies, too.

We are Registered Microsoft Partner In Nigeria.
