I was at my uncle house, in Lagos island for Ileya celebration. After Eid, everybody came out with their ram to slaughter, some slaughtered big Cows, but to my greatest suprise, a particular man brought forward a Camel to slaughter. I asked people that were around, why the man choose to kill a Camel, they told me that the man has a lot of people to give out meat to and he believes not even a Cow will be enough. Is this acceptable in Islam? Can't two big Cows replace one Camel? As a conservationist, I don't encourage this. What if everybody starts to opt for Camel, not minding the cost. Please, I just want your candid response. Thanks.
