When I was in year one in the uni I was still innocent, I didn't drink smoke, party or chase girls.

I had so much money that I didn't know what to do with it, I out of my goodness started loaning people money, I don't want to be a tribalist but in all my years till today I still lend for a good reason. The learnt money to many people but out of all of them the only 3 Benin people I lent money the 3 of them none refused to pay me my complete money.

The first in 2011 till today I no see.
The second in 2017 till today nothing.
The third this year till today nothing.

Instead one of them started saying am an Igbo man that Igbo people like money that I can't dash her the money.

It was Fraudulent staff.
I learnt my lesson never to trust Nigerian staff again, especially with anything having to do with money.
Since then, I only put Nigerian staff in non-sensitive roles. All roles where there is access to company money are given to Indians.

Indians have been incharge for almost a year now and not a single kobo had gone missing. Unlike when Nigerians were incharge, there was no week we didn't experience deficits and shortages and even inflated invoices.

DOING BUSINESS IN NIGERIA IS NOT EASY. SEEING PEOPLE AFAR SUCCEEDING IN A PARTICULAR BUSINESS DOES NOT MEAN U WON'T ECOUNTER DIFFICULTY WHEN U VENTURE INTO IT. HAVING A MENTOR DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WON'T LOOSE MONEY IN THE BUSINESS. WHAT REALLY MATTER IS YOUR ABILITY TO LEARN FROM MISTAKES AND RE-FIRE. DON'T JUST GIVE UP

she's now running the carwash I built with my money because her husband is a politician without compensating me, I took police there but they said it was a civil case.
anyway I believe it happened because God have a better plan for me.

Was stupid I entered a farming business. I was lured into it after visiting an elderly friend’s farm and seeing him selling hundreds crates of eggs and counting hundreds of thousands of naira. I got greedy and entered the business with doing research. It was the worst business I ever did and within six months, it affected my health so bad that till today, I suffer from this health challenges. The painful fact was my mentor sold me the baby chickens and sold me the feeds and sold me the drugs and gave the workers. The man made insane money from me. Before I know it, 10million naira was down the drain.
My mother even left her own business and tried to salvage the business and lost her life in the process.
The only thing I made from that business was the land I bought for it which is till today still along a busy road. Sadly the land is not even up to 10 million naira in value till today. Most of the time I just tell people, entrepreneurship is not worth it if you are not stealing money from somewhere to back it up like Otedola, Dangote and co. If not you are on a long thing.

Moral: don’t let anyone push you into any business because they are doing well. Most of the time, the successful business man you envy is a smart criminal who will finish you if you fall for this tricks

The so called friend of you is your enemy. He killed your business.

gbagam. I was in darkness. During that period i spent time reading motivationals.

I realized that these everyday motivationals aren't it. It will tell you never give up or you are almost there. but i tell you my brother theres a time to stop, theres a time to give up and fight another day. It was a dark experience for me.

N100k may be difficult to start a major business in Nigeria of today.

Why don't u put it in a fixed deposit account? I think some banks would give u up to 4.5% monthly interest on it. That's like N4,500 interest first month.
Then roll it over and u gain more interest based on compound interest.

Alternatively, u can buy Federal Government Treasury bills.

Haven't you read that treasury bills has fallen into a single digit rate?
If you're not buying tbills worth millions, your money will just be playing like teller inside your account.

I totally agree with you and recently learnt mine the hard way. All these people clamouring mini importation training won't tell you this. All they want is your 5k for the training fee and members who would import with them so they can be used to offset their shipping and clearance fees. Basically they use others to meet MOQ for their preferred goods use others to clear their own goods for them.

After waiting months for my goods to arrive, the clearance fee was half the amount I paid for my goods.. Then sending them over to me was another issue. They have the advantage especially if they are far from you as they tend to provoke you into abandoning your goods with them. A win win situation for them... Nigerians... We go dey alright Las Las
