Significance Of Today's Federal Holiday And Nigeria by farem: 7:25pm On Nov 11, 2019 |
I have been pondering on what really is the meaning and the significance of Today's Holiday. Can someone tell me? In my environment today, though the holiday has religious expression, the most people that were present first in their one-man businesses were moslems. Their businesses were carried out with so much fervour as if there was nothing being celebrated. I never saw one moslem man, woman or youngster today wearing a special dress for the supposed celebration. I, and I repeat, I did not see ANY special services today conducted today in the mosques around me. I want to emphasise, even as at yesterday, some moslems were at a loss of the public holiday was all about. I am not stating how this supposed Birthday of their prophet should be celebrated, MY CONCERN IS THAT WE DON'T NEED TO SHUT THE COUNTRY DOWN FOR NOTHING! Enough of politically motivated holidays, we need truly religious holiday that worth it |
