Traffic congestion in and outskirt of Lagos has become daily routine owing to ongoing road construction and rehabilitation across the state.

Yesterday evening, after close of work, around 6pm from Sobo Arobiodun in GRA Ikeja to Cement Bus stop on Lagos- Abeokuta expressway, it took over 5 hours for a journey that is less than an hour normally.

Two days back, I travelled very early in the morning to Ikirun, Osun state for business and left for Lagos around 1pm. I arrived Makun city, Opic around 4pm and heavy traffic crippled vehicles slowly as I headed for Berger Isheri area. I arrived Berger Isheri By-pass around past 8pm. Traffic almost drained all calories in my body system.

What more can I do than to prepare myself today, after close of business, for another round of traffic congestion? I hope the contractors can speed up work and deliver before time because man must not die inside Lagos traffic.
