Trade Expo Nigeria TEN by tradexpo101: 10:45am On Nov 20, 2019 |
TEN is a very powerful upcoming event by Trade Nigeria in partnership with Federal Government to promote trade and investment in the country. It is a B2B focused trade exhibition that will showcase all Nigerian products. The following are 10 examples of things you should do while exhibiting at TEN 1. Prepare 3-6 engaging questions before TEN 2. Create the right first impression 3. Encourage visitors to want to spend time with you 4. Be friendly and non-threatening 5. Build rapport 6. Ask questions that stimulate thought and encourage conversation 7. Ask open-ended questions - beginning with who, what, where, when, why or how 8. Relate questions to the industry, product/service and its benefits, or to a specific situation 9. Avoid trite questions, such as: "Can I help you?" ; "How are you doing today?"; "Are you enjoying the show?" 10. Practice, practice, practice Following are 15 examples of things you should NEVER do while exhibiting at TEN 1. Sit, read, smoke, eat or drink in the booth 2. Ignore prospects by forming a cozy cluster and chatting with colleagues 3. Use the (booth) telephone while visitors are around 4. Leave the booth unattended or leave without informing colleagues 5. Be late for booth duty 6. Close off conversation by crossing your arms 7. Stand with your back to the aisle 8. Say "Can I help you?" 9. Lean on booth furniture 10. Drink alcohol or eat garlicky or spicy foods during the day 11. Use inappropriate language, complain about TEN or about being at TEN 12. Wear new shoes or high heels 13. Badmouth your competitors 14. Let the booth get cluttered, untidy, and unorganized. Be unprofessional 15. The most important thing to remember when you are staffing a trade show booth is that you represent your company. Everything you do and say, even if it is not in the booth, reflects upon your company. You are an ambassador, and your behavior should be above reproach. Your attire and hygiene should be clean, neat, and professional. TEN is not a vacation, remember that you are on a business. Showing up drunk or hung over for booth duty is never appropriate and will not only put off customers, it may get you fired.
