It is no longer news that APC's Yahaya Bello defeated PDP's Musa Wada in just concluded Kogi governorship election. Although marred by pockets of violence, collated results from INEC was computed to generate a vote distribution map. The incumbent, governor Bello scored 406, 222 votes while his closest rival Musa Wada from Peoples Democratic Party scored 189,704 votes. Announcing Bello as the winner, INEC’s Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Umar, stated that Bello triumphed after scoring the highest number of votes during the poll.

Down south was the Bayelsa governorship election which was largely peaceful. David Lyon of APC scored 352,552 votes while his closest rival Senator Duoye Diri from the Peoples Democratic Party scored 143,172 votes. He was declared the winner by the state Returning Officer of the INEC, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, who is also the Vice-Chancellor, University of Benin.
