Saudi Arabia's state security agency says a social media post on one of its accounts that categorised feminism as extremism was a mistake.

The promotional video categorised feminism, homosexuality and atheism as dangerous ideas and warned Saudis to be vigilant against them.

The security agency says it is investigating the video.

Saudi Arabia is trying to shake off its image as one of the most repressive countries in the world for women.

The animated clip was posted to the Twitter account of the State Security Presidency over the weekend. The agency reports directly to King Salman.

If this is true, I don't know why Saudi is trying to keep away from truth because of public criticism. I pray that country doesn't become a secular one with the path it has chosen for herself. Aren't they representing Islam anymore? Feminism, homosexuality and atheism are dangerous ideas to mankind. Why sorry about that?

Please, read their "sorry" well. It only applies to feminism. They are not sorry about atheism and homosexuality, which kinds of says they are finally recognising something.

I dont even count Those Middle Eastern countries as Muslims anymore since they only care about money and power,only Iran is the Muslim country in the Middle East.I would prefer to study Islam in Egypt than go to Saudi Arabia.If not for the two Holy Mosques there in Saudi,I would support Iran to blow them off the face of the Earth.
Even the country's real name is NAJD not Saudi Arabia(Meaning the Kingdom of the Saud Family)

There is nothing like Feminism,its all just a hoax.Most women believes Paedophile and Rapist men should be killed or be castrated but what about Mature women that takes advantage of young boys and those girls that rape guys, Feminists wont ever talk about them.

I share your sentiments. As a matter of fact, all the self-proclaimed Ahlu sunnah, abi na salafiyah in Nigeria should bury their heads in shame for they always point to SA as their shining glory but I haven't heard any of them publicly condemn the conformist shenanigans underway in Saudi.

All of them are after power and wealth. Even Iran is not a saint they only help their fellow shia brothers and those who are close to them in their near heresy. You think al-Saud don't know why they allied with America and not bin Laden (R) against Iraq? You think they sponsor terrorism to support and spread salafiyyah? Then you are highly wrong if you do think so. All their nonsense is to remain in power and stop muslims from taking away their kingship. Do you seriously think there are no scholars talking to them? Then you will be bias if you think so. Al-ahzar is dead, it is only a living shell of itself i'd rather study here in a village under a renouned scholar, it will be the best. Or have you not heard of phd holders that graduate from al-ahzar end up as qur'aniyun? You think scholars are happy when tyrants rule? Have enough knowledge until you can decide for yourself don't conclude.
