The African Union is facing a backlash after firing Arikana Chihombori-Quao, the former ambassador to the United States. The African Diaspora Congress, has an online petition demanding her reinstatement. They say she was fired because of "influence and pressure exerted on African leaders and people by the former colonial powers of Europe."
