WEEPING GOVERNOR

The request granted by Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja for the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC)’s to freeze bank accounts allegedly owned by the immediate past Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari may bitten deep into his pockets as reports from sources in the state reveal that the former governor arguably is going through a hard time after he was restricted from accessing his accounts in Zenith and Polaris banks operated with funds in both local and foreign currencies.

This is evident in a letter addressed to the present Zamfara State governor seen by this online news medium in which the embattled former governor under whom local government workers were earning N6,000 as basic salary, lamented on not receiving money for his monthly upkeep for more than three months now.

From the letter, it was deduced that asides money for the upkeep which is pegged at N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) monthly, former governor Abdul’aziz also complained that he had only received his pension which is
