This is really strange though I have heard stories like this before. The one I read about that happened in benue disappeared with his son when they found out he was actually a ghost. Your friend might also be a ghost if this story is true.

I think you are right because she ignored me totally when I greeted her. She didn't even look me in the face but looked straight ahead. She was passing by her house which is by the roadside. When she ignored me, I assumed she was distracted and didn't bother saluting her again.

I have an aunty that also falls into such. Yoruba called it AKUDAYA which means some who is late now comes back to life but they don't come towards where they are known. Once they have the feelings that a known person saw them, they disappear.
