Kaduna Electric and its four Meter Assets Providers (MAP) have again stated they are seriously committed to making a supply of 435,000 meters to electricity users in the franchise within two and half years, IgbereTV reports.

They disclosed this at meeting in Kaduna yesterday between officials of Kaduna Electric, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and representatives of the four MAPs.

The four MAP firms are Cresthill Engineering, Holey Metering, Mojec International and Integrated Power.

The Managing Director of the DisCo, Engr. Garba Haruna, represented by the Chief Compliance Officer, Malam Lawal Lawal, assured NERC of the parties’ commitment to deploy the meters within the period. He said, “Although the full mass deployment has not commenced yet, we have agreed with the MAPs on full deployment plan to commence from January 2020 and we hope to meet the deadline.” Lawal also said the DisCo has given the MAPs full access to its database to enable them monitor and track all payments made by beneficiaries of the scheme. Leader of the NERC team, Alhaji Muhammad Umar, said “the essence of the meeting is to review the performance of the scheme in Kaduna DisCo, what has happened so far, what is happening and what the challenges are.”

First of all, the NEPA boss will bring out money for half of these meters.
Inside that half;-

They will supply half,
Those in charge of distributing will sell half to eligible buyers from another state at high rate,

They are not serious,meters that they are selling to customers at a crazy rate of 35,000k for single phase and 70,000k for tripple phase. Isnt it crazy that those that got the meters before got it free and now u are selling, how do u justify that. Yeye and radarada everywhere.

I don't care the quantity of meter supply they can offer but in 24/7 electricity with its bills regulated by our electric cards....Nigerians give excuses saying that surrounding countries which have gotten it right in terms of 24/7 electricity was because they were smaller in size....I believe Kaduna, Benin, Ikeja electric, Ibadan electricity companies can individually remove pride as the giant of Africa and understudy these smaller countries by paying them a visit... Imagine in a building, people have to share electric meters( that have cards) because of scarcity of the meters.... It is either we have an assembly plant for this meters here or just go buy from Ouidah, Benin giving them description of what we want( the one that suits our electrical system) as specimen for them to assemble for us....we are too corrupt in Nigeria and never sincere...people pay bills they ain't supposed to pay due to using the old meters or sharing with a neighbor with more appliances than what one has...abeg, who do Nigeria?

They are still milking us dry via estimated billing.

Na only to estimate kWh by the size of your house and bill you 30k then return 5 days later to;
cut the wires you bought,
steal the pole you bought,
burn the G&P you replaced,
steal every part of the transformer you bought.

And finally, you are back to perpetual darkness. And since the Disco belongs to a Hausa/Fulani, their own areas get proper billing and owe bills then the other side gets billed exorbitantly to cover up for their revenue shortfall.
