Does Burna Boy Really Deserves The Grammy Award? (poll/video). by AfroBeatDiary: 4:09pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
Sometimes around August we tweet to the @RecordingAcad that Fela Kuti deserves a Grammy award posthumously for his contribution to the world of music art. Fela Kuti was not only a musician but also an activist and up to 80% or more of his music are protest songs, lending his voice to against the Nigerian Military Junta with no respect to anyone not even Olusegun Obosanjo, something tells me if Fela Kuti is alive, he would have been yabbing Buhari by now. But Fela is no more, we hardly get protest music, the frontliners in music industry today don't care about the welfare and wellbeing of their masses a bit and why should someone who keep sampling a legendary tune get a recognition the legend never got? Even when he's not standing firmly for what the legend stood for! I know some of you will say Fela wasn't doing music for award or recognition but you are the same set of people (influencers) who will later say this boy is bigger then Fela because he got a recording academy award! We @AfroBeatDiary have said it before that if Fela Kuti can't get a Grammy at least the guy on the lead sax of Zombie deserves it if truly Grammy is meant for the best outstanding artiste. Like if you think Burnaboy deserves Grammy. Share if you think Recording Academy should give Fela Kuti a special recognition for all his efforts to mankind! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkl1YZx_tN4 Kindly subscribe to our channel and help us grow www.YouTube.com/AfricanDiaryTV @AfroBeatDiary © 2 Shares

The write up is very objective. The question is if Burna eventually wins, Fela should deserves the recognition, its not until recently that Childish Gambino and other making songs on AfroBeat that the genre became recognised. Fela lives on! |

Giving Burnaboy means P Squad also deserves the award in arrears cos Burna is not doing anything different from why they did. sampling song, sampling beat and paying influencers to promote it! |
