Aren't they aware of phone accessories meant for this purpose to make drivers focus more on the road... just the same way Navigations are manufactured into the cars.

Don't mind them, they always want Nigerians to be backwards. You can drive in any foreign country with ease because of GPS, and these ones are talking accident. Their concern should be about the potholes on the roads that have led to more accidents!

What is the percentage of road accidents caused by Google Map compared to other causes? I think this law is a misplaced priority, they should rather come up with sensitization plans on educating people on how to use the google map safely.

Really? Bro Google maps is a life saver. It does not only give u directions but also let's u know where there are traffics so u can take alternative routes or just re plan ur journey. I don't see how using Google maps while mounted to the dashboard can cause accident. Nigerians with their mentality.

There is a reason why both Uber and google maps have voice prompts/instructions. The idea is to set your destination, hang your phone on the dashboard and drive using the voice directions. This way, you don’t have to struggle with looking at your phone and driving at the same time.. The issue here is that the frsc has failed to clarify properly in the right terms what they actually mean.

If you can be stopped for taking a call without a hands free anywhere in the world, I do not see why you cannot be stopped for fiddling with your phone and using your hands to operate while driving.

Point is, keep your phone on the phone stand/hanger, set your directions, use the prompt and all will be well.. If you need to change direction/location on the map, simply pull over and get it done..
