INSTAGRAM is down and not working right now with thousands of reports coming in from across the world. The outage has left many unable to access the popular app with no word on when things will be fixed.

Instagram users are facing a frustrating afternoon with the app currently down and not working.

The new outage appears to have begun at around 2.10pm GMT with many continuing to suffer from the gremlins that are stopping fans from accessing the service.

Independent outage monitor DownDetector, which tracks social media mentions to try and track issues with popular websites and online services, has recorded more than 3,000 reports from users each minute insisting Instagram is not working on the Android, iPhone, or web app.
