The problem is not the engine oil, but the oil filter. Most oil filters sold in our markets are inferior and significantly degrade after 3 months. It’s advisable to change your oil and filter every 3-6 months irrespective of the type of oil used.
Also, the driving conditions in Nigeria especially Lagos makes for a more frequent oil change.

Very good point... bad oil filter can easily and I say easily damage engine.. If the oil filter paper gets caught up inside the engine... the engine is a goner

@ Urose93, U are a good man for u to apologise. God bless your family. Its not everybody in Naija that can afford synthetic oil but i will advise that if you dnt have money for synthetic, u go for semi-synthetic oil. According to my people that have said one or two things here, they believe that if u can by car worth 2.5M, u shd be able to afford full synthetic oil of 19k. God bless us. We learn alot from our people on nairaland. I love u guys
