Ego and pride has ended so many relationships and killed so many love stories. A simple problem “I am sorry, please forgive me” would have solved, we let it linger and become complicated, simply because we are too proud and egocentric to tender an apology. Pride makes us sometimes think we are too rich, too beautiful, too handsome, too sexy, too masculine or too feminine to ask for forgiveness for hurting the ones we love and hat is too bad!

Apologies should not only surface when we are wrong and have hurt our partner. Sometimes, Irrespective of whether we are right or not, we should learn to apologise because we respect our partner, value the relationship and thier presence in our lives and sometimes just to be romantic, especially when the problem is trivial or can be overlooked.

If you hurt someone, especially the ones you love, irrespective of your age, status or looks, you should swallow your pride and tender a heart felt apology to them. Take steps in correcting your mistakes and make sure it does not happen again. Only then will your apology be truly complete and you will always have the full attention and respect of your partner.

Never let ego and pride ruin a good relationship. You may feel your actions are not that serious, it may be hurting your partner badly, considering how much sacrifice they may have made for you. Do not rate a pain you are not feeling and do not trivialise an action just because you are not the one at the receiving end. Keep your ego aside, go down on your knees if necessary and say you are sorry, you wont die! Find a way to soothe their pain and keep to your words. Cultivate this habit and there will be hardly any problem your relationship can not overcome.
