The first lady of the federal republic of Nigeria is currently trending on Twitter.

This is not unconnected to her speech yesterday where she openly supported the Social Media Regulation Bill which has already passed it's second reading in the Nigerian Senate.

With most Nigerians condemning the bill, Aisha Buhari goes ahead to say that if China with over a billion people could have social media regulation, why not Nigeria with just about 180m people.

Aisha Buhari however forgets that China is a Communist government while Nigeria is a democratic one.

Activists and the general public including a good chunk of government officials and even the Sultan oppose the bills. See Reactions from Twitter.

She is not as educated as i thought. China is not a democratic country. See what is happening here, they pick things laws that suit their needs and ignore the one that favours us. She want to continue as first lady.
