It is already happening; employers will be decreasingly likely to pay you merely because you have a university degree. The phenomenal growth in university attendance across Nigeria is at the heart of this conundrum – this is effectively making university the new Secondary School.

We know that the jobs now and in the future are talent-based and knowledge-intensive. Talent is the one natural resource that organizations and even countries have – and it is the one resource that businesses and industries have to reinvent themselves to succeed in the new global economy.

Well, I think that the job market is strongly based on having a post-secondary educations and this is more important than ever with the recent economic slide. Employers are now allowed to be extra specific and picky when looking for recruits and unless you are skilled with a university degree or higher, you're chances of landing any entry level job without a lot of luck is limited. I would promote further education for anyone looking to advance their career and/or profession. Take some extra training, take a GRE practice test, or go out and do some volunteer work that would benefit you for experience!
