Your colleagues are ignorant.  Everyone who has done studies on slavery in sub-saharan Africa knows that the westerners would not have succeeded in laying their hands on Africans living in the hinterlands if the natives themselves had not willingly captured their kinsmen and transported them to the coasts. God bless the ancient Benin Kingdom and Ijaw kingdom who refused to sell their kin into slavery - I don't want to mention names, but we all know the ethnic groups that did this. 5 Likes 1 Share |

A lot of black slaves were sold out and betrayed by their kinsmen. It's no news.  |
