FRSC should do more to check drivers from overspending and ensure violators are seriously dealt with.

Terrible. Something needs to be done to educate drivers and get the government to do their part.

And which part is that? Is that road not good or big enough to drive tru..this is a case of reckless driving simple!

This is really shows that the world is coming to an end, it is only Jehovah's kingdom that can bring solution to this world, that is why we keep preaching about his kingdom before it comes to an end........

Did you know your government should do their part by giving you speed limits, educating you on them and enforcing it, for instance? Reckless driving indeed.

Who said it's about big roads or good roads? There's more to do about it.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, on Sunday confirmed an accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which claimed the lives of five persons and injured nine others.

Clement Oladele, the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, that the accident occurred at 9.10 p.m. around Danco Petrol Station, near Sagamu, on Saturday.

Mr Oladele blamed the lone accident, which involved a white Toyota Hiace bus, with registration number LSR 642XB, on speed violation.

He said that 14 persons, 10 males and four females, were involved in the crash.

“The corpse of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, while the survivors are also receiving treatment at the same hospital,” the sector commander said.

He said the obstruction as a result of the accident had been cleared to ease free flow of traffic on the highway.

The sector commander commiserated with the victims’ families and enjoined members of the public, whose relations were involved in the ill-fated crash, to contact the FRSC Command or the OOUTH, Sagamu, for any information.

Mr Oladele also reiterated the need for motorists to drive cautiously within the recommended speed of 50 kilometres per hour at construction sites.

He advised passengers to always caution drivers who are in the habit of driving recklessly, and call the FRSC’s toll free number 122, to report any driver who refused to take caution.

Please stop all this. The story mentioned a white Hiace bus involved in a lone (solo) accident, while the picture shows a truck and a salon car of a different color entirely

It's not a bad idea to install speed limiting devices on commercial buses and articulated vehicles. They are too reckless while driving and casualty count is always high Incase of accident.
I don't understand why the picture is different from the story.

When Saraki and Dogara were fustrating us by cutting budget to complete some of this projects till contractors vacated site, some demons were regiocing, now see what the greed of few legislators have caused us

What a huge political undertone! Can you please us what the present house has achieved?

It is not only the overspeed that causes accidents nowadays. But also stress and load of thinking about meeting responsibilities by the drivers.

Family pressure
Societal pressures
Psychological pressure
Buhari invented pressure too has joined cool cool

Those drivers aren't going that speed for the first time.
It is difficult times we live.
