Social media bill, hate speech bill in quick succession.


Where is the freedom of speech enshrined in the constitution?
What do we make of the cluelessness in our nation?
Misplaced priority when we barely escaped recession.

Our freedom endangered; to shatter our future,
Without our voice, we run into disarray,
Our tomorrow is structured with so much fracture,
Why shouldn't our voices be aired even when it doesn't pay

Can't the citizens air their plight in broad day light?
Without fear of a system that will keep their lips tight
Instead of passing a bill to secure the state's advancement
They are bent on what will bring about rights infringement

New dawn we called it! hoping for a better gathering.
Gathering of the moguls! hoping to be different from the usual.
Can't we voice our agitations! not the usual blabbering?
Can't we be responded without a punishment that is brutal?
