I came back after my MSc even though I got a job offer in the UK but turned it down so that I can add value in Nigeria. However, I didn't have a chance to apply my skills and experience despite being over qualified due to nepotism and man-know-man. I even offered to lecture part time to teach my software skills to students but the lecturers were scared of losing their jobs. There is no employment guaranteed in Nigeria when you come back.

I thereafter got PhD scholarship and I dont think I will make the same mistake. Leave the little jobs in Nigeria to those who have not migrated and those who are still huzzling. Work and acquire all necessary skills and experience in the UK and return all your investment in Nigeria to boost Nigeria economy. At the long run, come back home to Nigeria and finally settle to empower the Nigeria youths with your capital to bring about the needed change to develop Nigeria.

Please refer to the quote posted below. It was a while ago but the letter showed monthly allowances that added up to 1550 quid monthly for the university of salford. Like i said, it was a while back and this may have changed and thats why i'm asking. And maybe its different for MSc scholars but i doubt it.

The attached document you are referring to is for PhD. MSc scholars receive less. MSc receives £1160 as one off payment and monthly stipend £1150

There's no guideline for changing a course or school. Once it is related to the oil and gas, PTDF will sponsor it. It doesn't matter what you were given. After you have been awarded, many things will change. All depends in which school you were admitted into.

But whats the criteria that defines "related to oil and gas" does the course specifically have to carry the world "oil" "gas" or "petroleum" to qualify? because a case can be made for virtually any course in that regard. For instance can someone who got a scholarship to study energy law change to just "law", "petroleum geoscience" to just "geoscience" etc ? I'm asking all of this because i have no intention of limiting myself to a dying industry but at the same time in trying to give myself the best chance possible, I chose courses i felt were easier to write a SOP on and make a case for.

Plus dont they have a list of approved UK schools in their portal or is that just bogus?

Mrphysics have answered the question the only addition is that even in France, they accept alot of school and courses that are not listed in their portal. The important thing is get the scholarship and then talk to Mr Isa when you want to change course or school, then all thing would fall in place. infact,even in Germany, you can switch courses and schools if the schools are approved by DAAd

Well said as there is no admission you are applying for abroad that wont require you to submit your transcript. I know but one University that gives out transcripts to her students after graduation, it is University of Ilorin.

However to prepare for the interview you just need to be able to explain the rationale for the course and why you want to study it as well as how it will benefit Nigeria
