Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, on Saturday, December 7, 2019, inspected the on-going construction of the new ultra modern University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo town.

The Governor was joined by the former Governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr.Jibayo Adeyeye and the Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Dr. Ige Oluwole.

While inspecting the on-going work, Dr. Adeyeye explained that the on-going construction of the new ultra modern Hospital project at the Teaching Hospital in Ondo is part of the determination of the Akeredolu’s administration to replace all the old buildings in the Teaching Hospital in Ondo and Akure complexes.

He said:”Here, we will have three well-equipped theatres. This unit will house 250 bed here, 250 bed in Akure. We will be adding 500 bed to the health facilities in the state.

“We are going to provide a private wing in Ondo and Akure that will be good for the VIPs. We want to ensure that none of the VIPs will need to travel out of the country for medical treatment.

“By building something like this, everyone in Nigeria will come and benefit from the use of this facility. This has started and that of Akure will start in the next two weeks.”
