ID Cabasa Reacts To Criticism Of Nigerian Artistes By A Music Legend by StagethemTVee: 1:41pm On Dec 10, 2019 |
Olumide Ogunade popularly known as ID cabasa went on Social media this morning to disagree and correct an unnamed Music legend who granted an interview over the weekend on the state of the Nigerian music industry. The opinion of the industry vetaran seems to be that the music industry is presently filled with a lot of medicrity as regards content and that most artistes are now comfortable with singing whatever provide people are dancing and the beats are dope. ID Cabasa however would not have it and came to the defence of the new generation of artistes even tagging some of them including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Olamide, Joe boy and more. However, he refused to name the legend he was correcting probably out of respect and honour. So what do you think really? Are these new breed of artistes making sense like the older generation?

The moment you let the opinions of people become your compass you are finished. Conscious music.... conscious music, what will they benefit from conscious music in Nigeria? So Nigerians are waiting for one musician to sing them to revolution or development? You mean tell to me after all the songs wey dem older generations of musicians sing naija is still like this? By the way modern artist tackle problems based on their inspiration from the environment no wonder some songs are shitty. 2 Likes |

The ones that like conscious music should sing conscious music, I love conscious music and I also love afrobeats especially mad beats, just by listening to those beats adrenaline pumps through your veins, your heartbeats syncs with the rhythm of the song and you feel the energy rushing through you, it's wonderful. besides that's what sells most in Nigeria |

Bright Chimezie, Ebenezer Obey, Sir Warrior, Oliver De Coque, King Sunny Ade, Fela, Sade Adu, Asa, Brymo etc Showed great talent which were naturally expressed through their music. Scientifically, It has been shown that a people's musical consciousness is a natural consequence of their economy and standard of living. So therefore, This buhari economy can be attributed to the gbe body and soapy brand of music that has it found it's way into our national consciousness. |
