Terrible road accident claims 12 lives, left 91 with serious injuries in Niger state

The FRSC (Federal Road Safety Corps) has just released a new report of a ghastly road accident that recently claimed the lives of 12 people around Sawmill Village in Mokwa LGA of Niger State.
The horrible accident reportedly occurred on Sunday 8th of December 2019 along one Mokwa-Makera road in the Mokwa LGA of Niger.
On Monday 9th December 2019, Mr Joel Dagwa – the Niger state Sector Commander of the FRSC revealed to newsmen at the state capital, Minna that this horrific accident involved one large truck with the plate number KJ 555 XX. He explained that this truck started out its unfortunate journey from Maiduguri, picked up some passengers at Zaria before heading directly for Lagos. He notably said;

“The accident involved 103 people; 55 females, 40 males, 8 children. 12 of them were killed while 91 sustained injuries and were taken to Mokwa general hospital for treatment.
“All the 12 corpses have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue,”
Mr Joel Dagwa blamed over-speeding as the main cause of this terrible accident as he promises that the state FRSC will continually monitor such vehicles to guard against future problems like this as well as dangerous driving and overloading. He said;
“We have since embarked on aggressive patrols across all major highways to ensure that road users adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations to avoid road accidents before, during and after the Christmas and New year festivities,”
