A Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, on Thursday asked the Federal Government to review the complex rules and proceedure at the customary courts in the country to make justice more accessible to the people.

Falana stated this in Akure while delivering a paper on ‘Customary Courts: Practice and Proceedure’ at a public workshop on Administration of Customary Laws, organised by the Ondo State Law Commission.

He stressed the need for the full integration of customary courts into mainstream judicial practice by ensuring that the customary courts of appeal in each state were headed by lawyers with at least five years’ experience.
