Parked tankers and heavy-duty trucks are backed to expressways in Lagos State. This is coming after a few months of absence from the roads. Lately, a long queue of the parked tankers can be noticed along some expressways in the state. Affected expressways include Ikorodu-Expressways leading to Eko Bridge, and to some Apapa roads. Recall that, sometime in May this year, the Nigerian Presidency issued a directive for the immediate clearing up of the Apapa gridlock and the restoration of law and order in its environs within 2 weeks. Less than a week after that directive was issued, parked trucks are speedily disappearing from major roads and bridges. Roads affected are those that lead to the two seaports in Lagos state – the Apapa Port Complex and the Tin Can Island Port. The period of the absence of the parked tankers on the expressways gave the roads a more organize outlook. This enabled a free flow of traffic on the busy expressways. Traffic gridlock at the Apapa axis of Lagos state has been a major cause for concern as it has made doing business at the seaport and the surrounding environment tedious. The recent return of the parked heavy-duty trucks has given rise to gridlock on affected roads. What do you expect from a government that doesn’t even respect the decision of a court guarding the country’s law? APC is a failed party with corrupt simpletons as rulers. These tanker owners pay dues to park on that part of the road. They can’t be chased out because the dues will stop coming in. If you know, you know. Cladez: It depends. If you are living large, you’ll age well but most hustlers live up to 60....70 at most 27 Likes 1 Share |

I noticed you just returned from Dubai. After you’ve spent about a week or month in any developed country, you’d discover something is really really wrong with Nigeria. And I don’t think there is any hope for fixing this country but there is hope for you and me to hustle hard and to quietly retire to Dubai. So oga, for your own good you better stop bothering about naija. Even God has given up on naija 7 Likes |

They've taken over Lagos roads already. There is nothing Buhari or Lagos can do about it. unless they proffer an alternative for them with good road networks 1 Like |

Vanessa116:Madam stop saying what you don't know. The truck drivers normally pay before they are allowed to park their trucks on the road. Those who they Normally pay to are the same set of people the government has directed to stop them from parking on the road (I.e road safety officers, army, police officers, lastma) that is why they can easily and confidently park on the road without any disturbance. The problem of this country is not only caused by the government but by the people as well. 4 Likes 1 Share |
