Nawa o This budget is too small when some states are now having 500b-1tr as a budget. Enugu needs to improve on their budget. 2 Likes |

Enugu people are just too docile. People are not demanding accountability from government. This very government needs to do more. I went to Afikpo a couple of days ago, and there, one cannot avoid seeing the serious efforts Ebonyi State Government is making to bring lasting change to that town. I do not want to mention Abakaliki the capital. Drive through the small towns and semi-urban centres in Ebonyi, and all around are loud and visible testimonies of grit and determination on the part of government to uplift the standard of living of the people of that state. I am personally touched by what I have seen happening in Ebonyi, the much I have seen. Here, in Enugu, I can safely draw the conclusion that Ifeanyi and his crew have somehow forgotten that their time in office is now on the countdown. They have continued to waste the opportunity they have to truly serve the people of the State on meaningless things. So much time and resources are being frittered away on random cosmetic projects; things that are neither here nor there. There are places in critical need of attention. Our Governor has feigned blindness where he should mobilize action! Why waste money upgrading Hotel Presidential? Why not sell it off. What exactly is the usefulness of that International Conference Centre that government has captured it twice it its budget? Why waste money building a fly-over at Nike T Junction when a proper traffic control mechanism would suffice to keep the flow of traffic there smooth? Why waste money on things that are not so very useful? There are many, I mean MANY places where people can hardly access their communities because of erosion and bad roads. There are many places where people have lost confidence in government because they have been abandoned by successive governments! Go into the interior parts of our villages and there if you still harbour some compassion in your heart, you can hardly stop yourself from shedding a few tears. Those are places where a simple road connection will bring succour to the people and link them up again with the rest of humanity. There are places where most of the young men are gone for good; they have gone elsewhere because, to even farm is to commit suicide as there is no means of conveying farm produce to places of demand! Our Governor is budgeting money for colourful and fanciful projects when there are places where lack of road connection has become a matter of life and death! I recently spoke with a young Catholic priest posted to Breme, at Eha-Ndiagu axis, and I noticed how his eyes were moist while he was lamenting the ordeal people of that side face because of the fact that road transportation there is now a hellish experience. Many homes are overtaken by weeds because the owners have abandoned their homes and moved to places where civilization can reach them! Many will not come home for Christmas because they cannot drive through the dangerously yawning gullies that have taken over the only road that links them to the rest of the State. That place is now another world separated from the rest of us by gully erosion! Now, I ask: What exactly will it take to construct that road? Are the people of that axis still part of Enugu tate? Why is government silent on this particular issue? If the government fails to tackle the needs of that place which has endured deprivation for a very long time, then one can conclude that there is probably more to it than meets the eye. To whom so much is given, so much is expected! We are waiting and watching. Time is ticking and fleeting. Governor, it is time to take development to interior places where hope in government has since taken flight from the hearts of the people. The true work that you must do is such that must solve problems, or meet certain needs of your people. 4 Likes |

Any small thing, people will shout Buhari. Is Buhari the governor of your State? or has anyone reported that their State is not getting their due Federal allocations? These governors should be the major point of discussion. See as their belly be!! The budget is to share among them, nothing more. All of us know!!! Nna enh..
