Senate President Ahmad Lawan has appointed Senator Smart Adeyemi (APC-Kogi West) as the Chairman of the Nigeria Senate Committee on Aviation. Naija News recalls that Senator Dino Melaye, who was defeated by Smart Adeyemi in the Kogi West rerun election, was the head of the committee. Ahmad Lawan also announced the appointment of Sen. Ibrahim Danbaba (PDP-Sokoto South) as the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Police Affairs. This online news platform reports that the Senate on Friday adjourned sitting to Jan. 28, 2020 for the Christmas and New Year break. The motion moved by the Senate Leader Yahaya Abdullahi during plenary was seconded by Deputy Minority Leader, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha. “I want to thank the media generally for the wonderful job they have been doing and Nigerians for showing understanding. This legislature is yours,” Lawan said. “Whatever you want us to do and do better, give us the suggestion.
