Re: Christmas Celebration Controversy: MFM Releases Statement by cicero(m): 3:35pm On Dec 29, 2019
Baloney! This is rooted in that holier than thee, religious mentality. People throw birthday parties on days that are not actually their birthday, people set aside a day to honor human beings who are deemed to have contributed to the society or a nation, celebrating Jesus’ birthday on a particular day can’t be wrong if you believe He was actually born.

Communion is done to remember Christ, His birthday is remembered to celebrate the day He was born. If it was stolen from some pagan practice so be it, everyone on earth associates Christmas with Christ. Not some pagan bull crap.

Merry Christmas y’all.
Man will live forever because Christ was born.

Every year we go through this argument. What baffles me is why people who say they are Christians actually believe that Satan has right to appropriate a day or days to himself. It is the worst kind of unbelief in God and fear of Satan ever. So if 25th or any day has a pagan origin, we should abandon that day to pagan celebrations? Or to the devil? No we will not, instead we will put a Christian feast there and change it. God Almighty alone is the creator, all days belong to Him alone. We believe with St Paul that all days, meat or anything ese is consecrated to God alone. We make use of all.

MFM is too interested in devil's and demons, they should try focusing on God alone and worshipping Him, their minds will be reset.

It was in Roman catholicism that the unholy marriage between pagaism and christianity took place with pagan teachings and celebrations retained and rebaptised with christian names to make them acceptable. Christmas is nothing but the celebration of Roman sun-god birthday turned into that of the son of God. MANY PEOPL DONT EVEN KNOWN THAT BLESSED SACREMENT WHICH ROMAN CATHOLICS JUMP AROUND EVERY TIME IS THE SUN-WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS CELEBRATED EVERY 25/26 DEC IN THE NAME OF THAT OF CHRIST. ROMAN CATHOLISM IS NOTHING BUT PAGANISM IN CHRISTIAN GARMENT. cfountainoftruth@gmail.com

The Controversy on Christmas, December 25th as Jesus' Birthday: Our Position and Clarification, By MFM

With reference to the varied reactions that have been trailing the message of our General Overseer (Worldwide), Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, on the celebration of December 25th as Christmas in celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, during the church's weekly Manna Water service on Dec. 25, 2019, we make the following clarifications...

Though the foundation of Christmas is idolatry and God hates idolatry with perfect hatred, we will not throw away the baby and the bath water.
We do not condemn those who celebrate.
Jesus is born in us at MFM every day. His death is our birth certificate.

We will bring out the positive out of the negatives by using all holidays for prayers, conferences seminars, and activities.

We will hold seminars, conventions, camp meetings or special teaching services to pray, examine the scriptures and draw positives from the wrong, negative and idolatry practices of the two events: Easter and Christmas.

We will hold special meetings to re-teach, re-emphasize and reappraise the significance of Jesus' birth, death, cross, and resurrection.

ON DECEMBER AND THE SHEPHERDS
Strange but true! Remember those shepherds who were “keeping watch over their flocks by night”? (Luke 2:cool. December weather around Bethlehem is often miserably cold, wet and rainy. No shepherd in his right mind would have kept his flocks outside at night at that time of year!
The passage argues against the December 25th birth of Jesus Christ since the weather would not have permitted shepherds to be out in the fields with their flocks then.

Also, Luke 2:1-4 tells us that Jesus was born in Bethlehem because his parents came to that town to register in a Roman census.
The Romans were well known as highly efficient administrators. It would have made no sense to have conducted a census in the dead of winter when temperatures often dropped below freezing and traveling was difficult due to poor road conditions. Taking a census under such conditions would have been pointless.

The Bible nowhere tells us to observe a holiday celebrating Jesus Christ’s birth —but it clearly does tell us to do ‘communion’ in remembrance of him.
And who told these retards that Jesus was actually born on 25th December?
And the Middle East is NEVER miserably wet and cold. It's the Middle East!

The passage above is rubbish and stupid how does celebrating the birth of christ relating to what said or relating to idolatry? The word idolatry has no room their at all so far the bible reckon his remembrance, celebrating him is another word for it so, Who knows when Jesus was born? So far no one can actually says, all those who are saying something gibberish should just keep quiet and go to hell. Enough is enough over leading us into wrong array.

Brothers and sisters stop listening to any Pastors again and dont let them reads bible for you anymore, you can the read bible yourself and understand it better. The revelation you receive while reading, is what you should use to guide yourself and your life

They also said 25th dec is a pagan day, the day we celebrates the birth of Jesus, was only him born on that day? Pagan could decides they celebrates on the same day so whats big deal about it? I know the attachment of the word pagan is what causing this setback. The pastors around the world believes they know everything about the bible but if they cant figure out when Jesus was born they should forget about condeming christmas day for us.

You guys throw emphasis on non issues. Does it make any difference if people choose a particular day to celebrate Jesus. If Arabs is in winter is it in April?? December is when the Arabs is cold not April, you guys should stop fooling around and focus on the the mode of sincere worship. What about the sabbath day why are guys not disputing it's Saturday?? Let's focus on the spiritual things and what goes into the belly.

Christmas did not originate from Christ, It has absolutely nothing to do with Christ Jesus. It is pegan feast.

Paul already addressed this:

Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Well said bro, The day i know the meaning of gospel is the day i choose the church i attends carefully. Some pastors will just be preaching about how God destroy people and they will be casting the devil out of their member without knowing they are devil themselves. JESUS said go he into the world and preach the gospel. So whats the gospel? The good news of christ. If they are truely casting out the devil, Nigeria should ve being the best place on earth

The New Testament church does not follow everything written in the Bible. The New Testament Is our new constitution and not the whole Bible. This is where most churches are missing it. The priesthood has changed and so also is the covenant changed. The teachings of our Lord Jesus doesn't agree with most instructions under the Law of Moses. They should learn to follow the teachings of our Lord Jesus and his Apostles.

Do we then throw away the Old Testament part of the Bible? Certainly no. It has wealth of information still useful to us. Besides, without it, we will not know where we are coming from. But any teaching in the Old Testament that is not consistent with the teachings of our Lord Jesus and his Apostles should not be made a doctrine. If the church can stick to what Jesus and the Apostles taught, we will have minimal doctrinal differences in the body of Christ.

Jesus is the chief corner stone and not Moses. His teachings laid the foundation for the church.

CSTR2:

Which enemy are you talking about?

Is it the enemy that says he is not going to greet you in the morning or the enemy that says your wife will die at child birth.?

Because there are different types of enemies.

If God did not kill herod, Peter would have been killed after he already killed James.

It was the same God that rained down fire on those soldiers when they asked Elijah to come down.

God has not changed. It is you that fail to understand the scriptures.

You can't pray for some enemies to repent. They will kill you if you don't kill them.

Our Lord Jesus didn't differentiate one kind of enemy from the other. If you do that, you are adding to the scripture and you will be judged.

Your life is secured in Christ. If you try to kill them because you are afraid they will kill you first, then you don't trust in God's protection. But God is faithful and he is able to keep us from every evil works of darkness.

They can only kill you if you make yourself venerable by walking outside the will of God and also by living in fear.

They can't kill you. Your life is hid with God in Christ.
