Imagine the scenarios:

Guys are not too eager to marry.
Ladies set standards for life partners.
For many that are married, there are so much endurance.
When the endurance is stretched to the limit, there are break-ups.
There are so many strains on relationships.

Where then is the unconditional love that people talk about? Is it not a scam?

There are few people who uphold unconditional love, so it is not a scam.

Men marry with the hope the lady doesn't change after marriage. Women marry with the hope the man changes.
Having a serene relationship that will better both partners is more rare than gold. It is plagued with endurance,stress,deceit,pretense et al....broken men become misogynists and start shaming, playing girls and calling girls ho€$. Broken women turn misandrists and some start chanting men are pigs under guise of feminism...

I have never seen the love between a man and his woman as unconditional. Whenever I think of unconditional love, I think father and child, mother and child, Grandparents and grandchildren.

Unconditional love is the love that seeks to forgive even before forgiveness is asked.

Asking this from your spouse is like asking for something you yourself may not possess.

Romantic love is very conditional and it is beautiful too, and that’s okay.

Unconditional love is not a scam, whether or not it involves intimate relationship. It's just ambiguous, just like love is itself. Unconditional love means one's interest towards another, communicating about intimate relationship now, has no self-interest overtone coupled with readiness to give everything on principle to maintain and sustain relationship with such other person - only strong-minded/principled and altruistic people can give it.

However, unconditionality of love doesn't invalidate conscientiousness - because there's a thin line between love and foolishness. This means that the other party equally has a part to play to maintain and sustain the relationship - achieving healthy relationship is the key. He/she may not necessarily have to be altruistic, but at least he/she must be principled.

In the end, it's all about character - one's character will always determine their ethical leanings.

There is Unconditional love, what we don't have is Acceptance which is the principal key to loving Unconditionally. I've read a lot in recent times where men claim women can't love like men do.Funny thing is, I've heard a lot of recent where women accuse men of loving selfishly.The problem here is, Both Men and Women love the same way but express it differently.Love is one, only it's ways of manifestation differs.


The nature , Personality and Sensitivityof Man and Woman have a major influence on how they express Love.By nature Man is expected to provide, protect and Guide the woman, by nature the woman is expected to be man's mental shield, support him,honour him and be his drive (motivator).The job of the man is physical while the woman psychological/spiritual.A man will most likely express love by providing material things, security and shelter (spend money) for his woman,and the woman support him morally, mentally and sexually.Both show love out of their natural roles.
Humans personality and sensitivity differs as well.How a choleric will show love will differ to how a melancholic will express love.Firstly their sensitivity level isn't the same and their interpretation of love differ.

Now, the problem comes when people wave off the dynamic nature of man and expect too much from themselves.When you expect your partner to love you in the specific way you see love without getting to know how he or she sees love.When a man expect a woman to express love the way he does.Accepting one another for whom he or she is, is the only way to experience Unconditional Love. The love is there,we are just to self absorbed to see it.

There is no such thing as unconditional live between spouses!

There is nothing like unconditional love aka true altruism. unconditional love is a propaganda spread by the wedding industry, romance novel and films.

Mothers can abandon their babies like we see when babies are dumped in dustbin or gutters or in front of oprhangae
a partner might get sick and the other partner runs away
parent can abandon their kids

the reality is human are selfish, we all have selfish interest in relationship because of some benefits when the benefit stops, our inner most self start revolting and withdrawing.

if love is unconditional, will a man or woman continue to stay in a relationship if one partner is physically torturing the other
if your spouse becomes an armed robber or a higher killer or cannibal, will you still love him or her?
will you still love your spouse,if he or she kidnap you and put you in room all locked up for months?

most people love the idealism of love, the love, they imagine in their life, that is why they cry they want unconditional love

most people who spread the idealism of unconditional love are the most selfish people in a relationship, at the end of the day, they manipulate and use the principles of least interest to control the power dynamics of a relationship.

THE OTHER GUY THAT WAS IN THE NEWS SOME WEEKS BACK FOR SETTING HIS GIRLFRIEND ABLAZE.. HAD PLANS TO MARRY HER AND HELP HER CHANGE FROM HER CARELESS WAYS. THERE ARE MANY WOMEN MARRYING MEN WHO THEY HOPE WILL REMAIN THE SAME INSTEAD OF CHANGE TO SOMETHING DIFFERENT FROM THE MEN THEY MARRIED.

Things are changing but my point is still prevalent(for now though).
Ladies still fake it till they get the ring,and afterwards they become beasts. Likewise men act monstrous but ladies still marry with the ideology men are scarce ...most men that cheat will slide a ring in a ladies finger and she will gladly say yes,with the hope he changes in marriage.

You mean ladies that CURRENTLY add their menstrual blood in a man food for him to marry her or wash their vagina and use the water to cook for a man in other to secure the ring do it for their ideal men (men who completely fit her spec with no need for betterment?)

this is awesome, even jesus christ hated the unbelievers and love the believers only if they follow his ways and teaching.

the mothers only love their child if he/she brings positive behaviors back home

anyway i have seen mothers disowning their child, mothers dumping their children in dustbin, or mothers ignoring and abandoning their children to go after selfish interest.

For a woman who marries the one given to her by God, unconditional love is not a scam.

For those who say there is unconditional love, it means whatever your partner does (even if he/she brings a lover to the house) your love will remain.
