But were happy when Jonathan established six new universities and even count it as his achievement. You children of hate will always find something to wail about.

Yes, I agree their wailing is hypocritical...but to be serious....we really don't need any of GEJ or Buhari's new tertiary institutions...when the existing ones are diffiuclt to fund.

In this our 21st century where a graduate with BSc earns peanut then NCE graduates will be nanny. Why not think of upgrading the existing ones to school of education or degree awarding institutions by affiliation. The problem of Nigeria is not schools but integration of graduates in the workforce and the society at large. See NPower for instance, it would be great of the exited batch A is employed into the ministry of humanitarian. That is social integration.

So what u are saying is that this is a competition of achievements not about doing d right thing? Are u now saying that Jonathan is d standard that buhari has to follow? At this point in time, what purpose will new federal COEs and universities serve this country when d FG says there are no funds and d existing ones are underfunded?

Still not fair!

Nigerian Army University Biu - Borno state - NORTH EAST
Air force University Bauchi State - NORTH EAST

The nepotism under Buhari stink!
I think every administration uses their positions to favour themselves and regions. I remember the maritime university during uncle jona era. Obasanjo is the only truly nationalist amongst them.

You couldn't Manage existing ones and still establishing new ones. The old ones are not even functioning to maximum whereas even the lecturers are been owed.

Easily to work on African mentality with the feeling of it our turn to have this since others has it.
The alarming rate at which Govt approve/accreditatate higher institutions in Nigeria is really funny.

Please Ebonyi already has a federal college at ikwo, where the federal university is also sited. This is all politics

The one at Ikwo is state owned, the school if not for any other thing will create federal jobs.

I really don't know why Nigerians always see things from negative side.
Seems they are used to bad news shall.

In order to increase the number of quality of teachers in the country, the federal government has approved an establishment and immediate take-off of new six Federal Colleges of Education in each of the geo-political zone in the country.

According to the public relations officer of National Commission for Colleges of Education, Mr Ameh Isaac, the newly approved institutions would be situated in Bauchi, Benue, Ebonyi, Osun, Sokoto, and Edo states, where there were no presence of Federal Colleges of Education.

Mr Ameh noted that details on the take-off of the institutions would be made published through the committee set up by the Federal Ministry of Education to be chaired by Permanent Secretary of Education.

In his words of appreciation, the Executive Secretary of National Commission for Colleges of Education, Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu, commended the federal government for its effort to establishing additional Federal Colleges of Education in all the six geo-political zones in the country.

In addition, the Executive Secretary said the newly approved colleges would not only create more job of opportunities for Nigerians but would also improve standard of education and increase quality teachers in the country.

He also appealed to the host communities, where the institutions will be sited to give maximum supports that will aid smooth take-off of the institutions.

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA SHOULD REMOVE THEIR HANDS FROM FUNCTIONS THAT SHOULD BE RUN BY STATES.

They get their hands into too many responsibility and end up impoverishing the states.

Many crude oil producing states in Nigeria are starved of their funds because the federal government carry their money to throw into projects that is not even the priority of the states that is at the receiving end of the projects.

Let the state run Education instead of depriving some lucrative states of their funds and sharing their resources to other poor states.

If you applauded Jonathan creating more universities and see it as achievement, why are you against this? Why the double standards?

People criticized Jonathan when he created more universities instead of funding existing ones but igbos defended him. Why are the same people wailing now?

The one for Ebonyi should be converted to baby factory or fake drugs factory, Igbos will not go to College of Education.

I suppose in Nigeria condition today, anyone who wants to grow should grasp any little opportunity and think of how to improve on it.

The school will create job for many graduates, it open up the face of the town where it will be located that probably doesn't have any before. In the nearest future, it could be affiliated to our federal university, the same way the state owned college has just been affiliated to state university.

I think is better to start somewhere.

Do u no if I applauded or criticised Jonathan when he established 6 universities? U also don't no if I am Igbo or not. And if u say "People criticized Jonathan when he created more universities instead of funding existing ones", then d focus is about doing d right and not about whether Jonathan or buhari is involved. My question still stands: "At this point in time, what purpose will new federal COEs and universities serve this country when d FG says there are no funds and d existing ones are underfunded?"
