last 3 weeks i got an izap slim modem
@ikeja,computer village for 8,500
naira. The maximum speed written on
its pack 3.1mb/sec. While the
minimum was 2.1mb. When i got
home i connected it and the maximum
speed i got was just 51kb/sec. I called
their customer care line and they told
me there's nothing they can do to
help. Pls nairalanders, is it a pirated
modem i bought? Where can i get the
real izap which speed is not less than
2mb/sec. Or i should go for another
network?

2Mbps speed is not guaranteed. What u can do to improve ur speed;

1. Disable Starcomms iBoost, if u hav it installed on ur system, and check if there is any appreciable increment in ur browsing speed.

2. Pray, pray n pray for improved speeds. Just kiddin, u can only get speeds in d range of 128kbps to 300kbps at a consistent basis. But i can assure u dat it is very reliable and consistent. Its downtimes are very minimal.
