Is having a new year resolution paramount To having a fruitful year?

A resolution is a decision a person makes on things to do and those to quit. People make new year resolutions with the intention of surging forward with their ambition and improving their lives. Every end of the year leaves behind the anxiety of what the next year hold. These new year resolutions make us prepared to beat the time.

Making new year resolutions have become a tradition over time. Research has shown that before February, people tend to abandon their goals or just get discouraged. Despite all these setbacks, we have continued to make new year resolutions.

I have always been a goal-driven person and I seek solace at the end of the year for self-reflection and planning. I set goals but just like a flash, these goals don't make it past January 31. In my self-reflection, I had to ask questions on why I fall out from the 8% that succeed in attaining their goals. I had to look for other means to make my dreams work, to move one step ahead. I decided to make a master list - subdividing my plans. Maybe they were just too broad and as goals need time, so my timing has to change. These goals don't have to wait to the beginning of the year before I draft them, the planning can start now. So what are you still waiting for?

We have come to the end of the year and at most, we are already planning for the next year. I know that some people see new year resolutions as a necessity for one's growth. Have your new year resolutions work for you? Why do you engage in it continuously? Is having a new year resolution paramount to having a fruitful year?
