The vision 2020 statement read: By 2020, Nigeria will have a large, strong diversified, sustainable and competitive economy that effectively harnesses the talents and energies of its people and responsibly exploits its natural endowments to guarantee a high standard of living and quality of life to its citizens http://www.nationalplanningcycles.org/sites/default/files/planning_cycle_repository/nigeria/nigeria-vision-20-20-20.pdf Has Nigeria come closer or further away from this vision? DavidEsq: That’s what happens when corrupt people hire experts to write beautifully crafted project plans for them which require immediate action and deviation from current course, then the leaders go back to doing the same thing over and over again |

Yar'Adua's death destroyed all the visions ..Goodluck Jonathan became a sudden President he wasnt prepared for.. He could have been better if he had being giving active roles before his Master's demise |

Vision 2020 died with Umaru. GEJ doesn't know what the dreams of his principal was before he died, so he buried the dreams with his principal. |

Re: What Happened To Nigeria’s Vision 2020? by socialmediaman: 8:11pm On Jan 01, 2020 |
urahara: True, corruption, laziness, lack of transparency and insincerity. I’ll explain these: Corruption: someone loots funds, someone hires incompetent people as favor to family or friends (nepotism) etc Laziness: Someone is busy majoring in minors and doesn’t do what’s necessary. Someone wants to enjoy the office rather than work hard Lack of transparency: someone wants to hide what they’re doing from the public for obvious reasons; maybe they’re incompetent and don’t want people to know, they’re corrupt and want to hide it, they don’t want scrutiny or criticism, they are misogynists (in the case of men), narcissistic, have a hidden agenda and more Insincerity: someone is incompetent but doesn’t want to admit it, someone lies to cover up their mistakes and failures in order not to be admonished and seen in the negative light 2 Likes 1 Share |

BuhariAdvocate: What are the benchmarks for vision 2020? State the vision and let's see when it was derailed. The scholarship for first-class graduates for oversee studies was cancelled by NASS championed by Kwankwaso Arewa/APC mentality when no Northerner made the cutoff mark after interview notwithstanding being led by mostly Northern board. |

Pls let's forget rubbish. In the 1990's we kept hearing of millennium goals as if we will never get there. We got there and we started hearing of vision 2010, we also got there and we started hearing of vision 2020. Now we are here and everyone is mute. What is notable is that everyone of these goals are the same. It means as far as I can think Nigeria is struggling to achieve a particular thing that seems impossible. When are we going to learn that Nigeria is a failed project. If Buhari was educated, in the coming days we would have been expecting vision 2030 or any useless name they deem fit to give it. |
