Pastor Ize-Iyamu, Four Others To Be Re-Arraigned Feb 13 For N700m Election Fraud by NwekeUG(m): 11:05am On Jan 04, 2020
IgbereTV reports that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2016 governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and four others will on Thursday, February 13, 2020, be re-arraigned on charges bordering on a N700 million election-related fraud.

Ize-Iyamu and the four other accused persons were earlier arraigned in 2018 before Hon. Justice P. I. Ajoku. But, the trial could not go on due to the transfer of the Judge.

Presently, the case file is currently in Court 1, Federal High Court, Benin City, before Hon. Justice M. G. Umar, who is the presiding judge of the judicial division.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed charges against the accused persons bordering on illegal receipt of public funds for the purpose of the 2015 general election, contrary to the provisions of the EFCC Act and the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.

The EFCC accused the defendants of conspiring among themselves to commit the offence in March 2015. It alleged that they took possession and control of the funds without any contract award.

IgbereTV learnt from a reliable source at the court, that Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the four others are to be re-arraigned on the 13th of February, 2020.

The source who preferred to be anonymous said, “The court case could not go on because the judge who handled the matter earlier was transferred. Now, a new judge, Hon. Justice M. G. Umar has taken over the case, which would come on the stated date.”

Also the accused in the case are: the Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, a former deputy governor, Mr Lucky Imasuen; a former member of the House of Representatives, Mr Tony Azegbemi; and one Efe Anthony.

Oshiomhole is shameless. There's a video online where Oshiomhole himself confessed in the video that Pastor Iyamu is a thief, that he won't be allowed access to government funds and treasury.
Now this same Oshiomhole in pursuit of his selfish interest, went and aligned with the man he knew is a thief brought him back to the shameless party of crooks and theives APC, and is preparing him to succeed the present governor.

APC and Oshiomhole has no shame.

He was with PDP and his case has been lingering for years... Joining APC will only bring up the case so it'd be buried ones and for all.

There will still be party primary. If majority of APC members want him so be it. This will not save Obaseki.
On the matter ize Iyamu has never denied receiving the money from Jonathan and the pdp. He was given the money in 2015 as the director general of Jonathan campaign in Edo state which he gave account of how it was spent. He has never denied receiving the money on behalf of edo state pdp.
And on the strength of using the money for the purpose it was sent by the pdp. Pdp won the state presidential elections and senatorial seats.

Saraki was in and out of court as well - he didn't quit while at it. Ize-Iyamu will not be cowed or discouraged/prevented from contesting because he's in court either, IMHO.

My brother leave their propaganda. Court cases are listed for hearing not in secrecy. You do not need anonymous source to confirm. It is part of their desperation. Democracy is competition I wonder y they are afraid.
