At the young age of 29, Eddie "Nawgu" Okeke claimed he had been touched by God and was given the ability to see and perceive what the ordinary human eye or other four senses could not intercept. Shortly, after he began his ministry, he built a church-like structure and named it ' ANIOMA HEALING CENTRE. Little did we know his power were demonic. People claimed before he built his church he buried live human's under the alter and foundation of the church. He stated that the reasons for creating the 'Anioma Healing Centre' was to heal the sick people in the community and restore hope to people. During the mid-1990s in Onitsha, Anambra State, Eddie Nawgu had started to grow famous, he gathered a large percentage of followers, all thought of him as a true man of God, a charismatic leader and a Prophet. I'm sure you familiar with this word " The walls have ear" People began to suspect him. As a result, he had begun to attract the attention of the Bakassi boys; a vigilante security group which was set up and spearheaded under the tenure of Chinwoke Mbadinuju, former Governor of Anambra State. The Bakassi Boys weren't like any other vigilante group they harnessed great "metaphysical powers to aid them in intercepting thieves and law breakers in general. Eddie Nawgu had been accused of kidnapping, aiding & abetting infamous criminals, partaking in rituals involving use of human body parts, i.e. (the human skull) illegal possession of firearms and human sacrifice. This took him to the top of their "most wanted list". By the mid-90’s, he became friends with millionaires of that era, they all paid him homage and had him perform tasks such as house openings and dedication of infants. He was said to be well known by most Military Administrators of the time, most of them visited him at his healing centre where he “prayed” for them. He called himself “Alusi n ‘eje uka” (the Deity that goes to Church) and “Okala Mmadu, Okala Muo” (Half man, half spirit). The Bakassi Boys failed 13 times to capture Eddie Nawgu, The capture of Eddie was indeed difficult for the issakaba boiz. He was so powerful he could defy the rules of Physics and had the ability to teleport at will. Iheard he could change to anything of his choice such as wood, chair anything he want. This mysterious power kept the bakassi boys locked in a puzzle box. They had no choice other than to invite their supreme leader named, " NGWURO" to help in the capturing of Eddie. who managed to strip the sorcerer of his alleged mystic abilities were they were able to finally capture the self-proclaimed demonic prophet. Eddie Nawgu, was apprehended on the 14th trial by the dreadful and feared vigilante group. He was taken to their base of operation for further questioning and interrogation. Top Officer's from the Nigerian police demand his immediate release. Unfortunately, he was rejected by the Bakassi boys. High-profile government workers and officials allegedly interceded for the release of Eddie Nawgu as reported by the head of the vigilante group; Mr.Ngwuro refused to name these top officials. During his stay as prisoner in the prison cell of the Bakassi Boys he allegedly made startling confessions. He confessed to a lot of evil act, claiming to be particularly gifted in making potent charms capable of aiding its users to disappear in awkward situations. For protection, he made concoctions by killing 3-day old babies and bathing the subject with the remains and for money, he would sacrifice a pregnant woman and the developing foetus, total number of people killed for this purposes were pegged at 93, with 16 children missing from a maternity in Onitsha traced to him. Before he was killed he begged to be thrown into the river Niger maybe to be reincarnated or what so ever. The bakassi boy refuse he was eventually beheaded and burnt by the Bakassi Boys at the Ochanja Market in Anambra state, on 9 November 2000 (aged 43).... my source of information......http://news-af.feednews.com/news/detail/ccc5173e6ba15cc476ee9e6f96a2d41d?client=news |
