Theoretically, it's good advice, especially the part about finances being a major factor in marriage.  In reality, it might not be so appealing, especiallly when the couple has differing opinions about money.  It might not be a bad idea for it to be vice-versa, i.e. if a couple can agree on the more financially responsible of the two, that person manages the family's finances as agreed upon by both of them, my two kobo, _{and yes, i am married x 8 years now}
