Unsustainable model, makes absolutely no sense to export cheap crude, import expensive fuel, and then use proceeds from crude export to finance fuel subsidy.

Then there’s the obvious under declaration of crude oil quantity mined, and also add crude theft into the mix.

Nigeria is really talented at mismanaging its natural and Human Resources. Wasted commodities and untapped minds.

Anyways, kudos to industrialists like Dangote, Innoson, BUA etc thriving in such a harsh environment.

Why doesn't Al Jazeera do a documentary on Nigeria's diversification efforts, say in the agro-allied industries?

Why don't they tour the rice processing industries being set up all over the country, showing a country moving to diversify from oil dependency, and create self-sufficiency in food?

Such a documentary will help attract investors and help the very people in poverty they love to show.

Why don't they do a documentary on the FG's school feeding programme - the largest school feeding programme in Africa - that's feeding millions of our kids for free in school?

Or what about the ongoing rail revolution? Rail infrastructure lowers business costs, which will help grow prosperity. The strides we are making in that sector are worth covering. For goodness sakes' we are setting up factories to BUILD the trains ourselves, as we speak. Why does Al Jazeera ignore that?

Why don't they do a documentary on Eko Atlantic - the largest single ongoing project in Africa today, the African Dubai, set to employ hundreds of thousands of Nigerians in the years ahead?

I guess all that would be far too 'positive' in their endless quest to air negative news about Nigeria.

Foreign media rarely carry good news same way our media outlets loves pushing negative news. The truth is the world system loves negative news. Negative news sells faster that is why the moderators on this platform rarely push positive news. The easily move negative news to front page while the positive ones takes time

They did ask you to suggest topics, so I'll assume this is what you sent them. Right?

Why aren't you asking NTA or NAN to do a documentary on these topics. Both are state back medis outlets like Al Jazeera. Im not aware of any interesting documentary they ever put out like the BBC Africa.

Denial is the first phase then realization, acceptance and only after can progress be made!
