Once in a while, fate throws up a redeemer of his people from nowhere and such a person goes on to salvage his people from the nadir of despair.
The last time we saw this was in 2002 when a certain Mr Peter Obi took the politics of the state by storm. At the time, he was about the youngest man aspiring to be governor of a state then gasping for breath under the suffocating politics of godfatherism.
Many doubted Obi's capacity, especially given his lack of political experience. But those who look beyond the facade saw in him, someone who was capable, willing and committed to taking the state to another level. What happened afterwards is now history, but suffice it to say that Obi set the state on the path of economic stability.

Today, in almost the exact same circumstances, fate is about to throw up another man imbued with all the qualities to change the narrative of governance in Anambra.
A young man who has already conquered the corporate world, applying a Midas Touch to anything he touches and wowing all those that come across him. That man is Mr Valentine Chineto Ozigbo.

He is the president and CEO of the high soaring Transcorp, winning multiple awards and changing the dynamics of corporate enterprise in Nigeria.

Why does Anambra need
Ozigbo at this point?

To say that Anambra badly needs to up the ante of governance at this point is to state the very obvious. Though the incumbent government is doing its best, the feeling remains that something is still lacking; a yawning gap waiting to be filled. It is not what just anyone can do. It requires a person who has the capacity to take the state to the next level, not by mere talk, but by provoking a chain of actions necessary for that extra jump.

With his wide connections in Nigeria and beyond, Ozigbo certainly ticks all the boxes.
As president of Transcorp, Ozigbo has met with at least 40 heads of state, including our own president. He enjoys the goodwill of many state governors too; just as he's proved more than capable of managing men and resources. Indeed, if he could take Transcorp to global reckoning, there's nothing in the book that says he cannot replicate that in Anambra.
Ozigbo fits the bill because he has the wherewithal, as well as the vision, to manage the state.

It is also instructive to note that the brand, Ozigbo, isn't restricted to its humongous exploits at Transcorp. It is also a brand that seeks to innovate and develop something out of nothing. Ozigbo is currently blazing the trail in what is known as Free Style Football, of which he has become the biggest promoter on the African continent.
Through this project, he is changing lives in a rapid manner that will project him to global acclaim in sports in a couple of years.
This aspect of him underlines his capacity to create and compete globally; qualities badly needed at this time in Anambra State.

Away from sports is also another aspect of Ozigbo's creative nous. For some time now, he has been involved in what is called Unusual Praise. This is a brand new way of getting people to worship God in an unusual manner. It also seeks to grow gospel ministers and empower young men and women in what is also termed Unusual Entrepreneur.
Ozigbo is one man who always strives to conquer his immediate space by thinking out of the box. It is clear that under his watch, Anambra governance won't be all about paying salaries and building roads. The great nations of the world are not just about that.

A state as complex as Anambra is not ife eji edu mmadu uno. The state needs a man that can enjoy the confidence of investors and our people outside; a man that others can rest assured that their state is in safe hands.
He may be young, but is it not said that when a child washes his hands he dines with the elders? Ozigbo has washed even both hands and the elders are beckoning on him to dine with them.
Like the state got a breath of fresh air in 2003, another breath of fresh air is about to be let out in the state.

Ozigbo is also from the South Senatorial Zone of the state where popular sentiments point to as the zone to produce the next governor. But Ozigbo is not making waves because he is from the South. He is making waves because he is Good.

Humble, unassuming and intelligent, Ozigbo is ready to serve his people on the platform of PDP and at the appropriate time, will roar like the lion.
