My point is that passengers are not economically viable in Nigeria and essentially are a white elephant project from tha perspective

Ah airport maybe be constructed for passenger and converted to cargo use if the numbers do not add up

When the British brought the rail to Nigeria and indeed when rail was invented it was for cargo originally.
Passenger rail came later as society became more prosperous

In my opinion there is too much poverty in Nigeria to make the passenger side viable. I hope I am wrong
Yes, cargo trains and passenger trains can share the same track as obtains in the USA. Also, with respect to profitability, some projects can be run as a public good without the prospect of any profits in near future. However, Nigeria as a nation will profit through indirect means since it will improve general productivity of the SouthWest region.

Poor trains Rotime needs to go out . Buying locomotives with one head and carriages disgusting really. Why don't you go to UK and buy proper trains instead of buying substandard trains.
. Don't comment if you don't understand how test trains and service trains works?what is a locomotive? Simple Google might have been of help to educated you. Some Nigerians will with courage deliver a fallacy as a fact. Coming from someone that has worked on the railways for more than 20 yrs my concern is the durability of the Chinese Loco, signalling and track. Thumbs up Nigerian Govt.

This is an Ibadan-bound train crossing the newly-built Kajola Bridge. 3yrs ago, that whole area was a huge forest.

Muhammadu Buhari, Prof Osinbajo mean well for our dear country. By the time they are done with Nigeria, we'll be on the fast lane to growth and development.

Because Saraki the bastard and Dogora kept slashing the budget for two consecutive years till contractors abandoned site, remeber lagos ibadan express is actually a 3 state project (Lagos , Ogun, Oyo) and not like tiny SouthYeast states, this are massive state

First of all, the Lagos to Ibadan railway project was started under the Buhari administration. If you are not daft as you are trying to convince me then you will know that it is absurd to thank Jonathan for it.

We know when the contract was signed and when the actual construction started, all under Buhari. If you are not dumb then you should know that the success or failure of this project can only be attributed to Buhari's administration and not Jonathan.
I bet when the second Niger bridge is completed you will also thank Jonathan for it. If you are not a kid then I'm sorry for you.
..gentlemen who ever started it should not be a problem na... na all of us get am

who do u say this thing

the moment a topic hits nairaland, people will look for a possible way to be tribalistic, or apply ethnic sentiments.....

in another topic somewhere, all the Muslims are supporting Iran while all Christians are supporting Donald Trump

Are the people of Katsina and the north generally having road, water, train and jobs?
