Emman2903: Keep hope alive. There are still a few 'ordinary people' getting appointment dates in Cat B. My course mate had interview in March although still awaiting decision from the embassy. She's in the second semester by the way and courses have been online so far. |

I cannot totally trust the European government and their Commissions but then, we are the ones who approached them. They issued requirements for us all and not compulsion. The blocked account funds is to help many of us with INITIAL living expenses and to secure their country at least. To be honest, Germany is very fair to foreign students. You transport round your University State without a fee or ticket on Regional Trains because of the semester fee you paid, your rights are protected and you can have a fair ground too. My advise is that before you go ahead to block your account, you must have received an appointment (e)mail especially in Nigeria where you have up to one week to prepare. If not for the unnecessary long processing time of Form A, Fintiba will not take 5 working days. If there's anyone who wants to collect their money back from Fintiba, the best way to contact them is phone call and make sure you have your passport number handy (I can help you call if we arrange for it so you can speak to their support staff. I don't think in this kind of situation, you'll need any letter from the embassy to retrieve your money. 2 Likes |

Good morning nairalanders, I got a mail from the German embassy in Lagos inviting me for a visa interview (category A) on the 5th of May, 2021. Looking at the requirements for the category I'm not qualified for the category but I have started my Master degree (Germany), lectures has been virtual, done with the first semester now in the 2nd semester. My Questions are as follows: 1) would I be accepted for the interview considering the fact that I do not meet the requirement for the category? 2) if I am qualified for the interview, is it compulsory to have the sponsorship letter with me? 3) can I postpone the interview? I await your kind advice on this matter. Thank you guys |

Zeeco007: There is 80% chances that you might be sent back for booking the wrong category. With your situation if you are lucky to be accepted for the interview it’s best you have every documents listed on the checklist (which applies to you) and lastly you can’t postpone the interview, it’s either you attend it or cancel it and book again in the right category. Best of luck 2 Likes |

After getting scholarship letter, do I have to wait for the scholarship money to be paid before applying for Visa appointment. Is there any likely hood that the embassy will require the scholarship fund be paid before granting me Visa. Thanks 2 Likes |

Dannyeagle: Go and apply ASAP. Pick Category A, don't wait till you get your scholarship stipend (which might not even drop unless you are already in Germany), you would be on a long thing... Book your appointment as soon as possible and pick category A cos of your scholarship. I wish you the best. 1 Like |

shawnmich: Do you think that they are 'exploiting' Nigerians? How much have you paid to the embassy for a service you never got? Visa interview appointment is free, University applications are free unless for uni-assist schools, and you have a chance to defend your case anyhow during the interview. Visa denials or rejections are not even instant in most cases provided you do well during the interview compared to the UK that doesn't given you an opportunity to explain yourself. In my opinion, I don't think so though. BTW, it is 'swear' not 'swell'. 2 Likes |

"Please upload the certificate of your university entrance qualification (HZB) here. Depending on which HZB you are applying with, different documents are required." While filling application form I came across the above quoted paragraph. I'll like to know if the "HZB" stands for WAEC certificate or Degree certificate. Gurus in the house and those that have come across such words what did you upload, plz your urgent response is needed. |

Good day all, Its been a while here and I just thought to come say hello to everyone still on this hustle. Its really worth it, although I see there are now a lot of hickups. I can only pray God softens it for everyone. I want to offer help in the small way that I can. Incase you want to send documents to Uniassist or any other schools and you need someone in Germany to help you disperse it so that you only pay for DHL/UPS once from Nigeria to Germany, i can help you. What I mean is, assuming you want to send to Uniassist and another school, you can package all your documents into one folder and send to me. I will separate them here, send to the different schools for you from here in Germany for FREE. Please note that this is just a limited time offer. you can mail me on daeveed@freenet.de Also, for those who want to pay for their Uniassist applications, I can help with that, of course you pay me in Naira and I pay for you in Euro based on agreement. Cheers! 1 Like |
